The main activities of RCS are to:

• Guide our academic staff through the complex process of applying for EU and other international research funding and support the projects once they are awarded.
     
• Provide ‘intelligence’ on new research directions and work to match the interests of external funding bodies with the research interests of our academics.
     
• Develop, bid for, and manage complex multi-party projects such as the recent Manufacturing Technology Centre and the Science City Research Alliance.
    
• Develop and maintain business partnerships and seek to apply our research knowledge commercially where possible.
    
• Promote our research and academic experts to international television and radio
