Je-S

The Joint Electronic Submission (Je-S) system is used to submit applications for funding to all the UK Research Councils, with the present exception of the MRC. The system can be accessed at https://je-s.rcuk.ac.uk/. Support for Je-S users can be found through the system help link , or from the guidance documents on the Je-S information site (which includes information about how Je-S works). In addition, we have put together lists of frequently asked questions, and common reasons why applications are returned.

Validation and submission

Submitting a proposal
When you click the submit button in Je-S, your proposal doesn't go directly to the research council. It first has to pass through a two-stage approval process within the university. The financial details are checked by Research Accounting (the 'approver' pool), and the proposal is then approved and submitted by your School (the 'submitter' pool). It is vital that you allow time for this to happen, and to fix any problems that arise. As a rule of thumb, allow at least two days for this process.

Help!
If you have a complex query, or find that the tutorials and help files are not answering your questions, there are other lines of support available. Within the university, you can contact Sally Wiley (click here to email, or telephone extension 43884).  High-quality support can also be obtained from the central Je-S Helpdesk (click here to email, or telephone 01793 444 164).
